Fabricated and installed by Gizmo Art Production, a San Francisco–based public art fabrication studio specializing in permanent, large-scale installations.
Loqui, by Blessing Hancock, is a 32′ x 32′ illuminated sculpture constructed from stainless steel, polycarbonate, and programmable LED lighting. The structure was fully pre-assembled at Gizmo’s San Francisco studio, where the lighting system was laid out, programmed, and tested prior to disassembly and transport to the installation site in Nashville.
The sculpture’s form is wrapped in stainless steel text, reflecting its conceptual basis—“loqui” is Latin for “to speak.” Designed to encourage public expression, the work incorporates language collected from the local community, transforming personal narratives into a dynamic, color-changing visual experience.
This project is part of Gizmo Art Production’s work in public art fabrication for permanent installations.
