Gizmo Art Production Project Loqui Featured in National 250: A Celebration of Public Art in the U.S. Exhibition

Gizmo Art Production is proud to announce that Loqui, the landmark public artwork by artist Blessing Hancock, has been selected for inclusion in 250: A Celebration of Public Art in the U.S., a nationwide virtual exhibition honoring America’s 250th anniversary.

Presented by NOT REAL ART in partnership with CODAworx and Arterial, the exhibition celebrates outstanding public artworks from all 50 states, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico. The online exhibition showcases how public art transforms parks, city streets, civic spaces, transportation hubs, and cultural destinations across the country, highlighting the diversity, creativity, and lasting impact of art in the public realm.

Representing Tennessee, Loqui is a large-scale illuminated sculpture created by artist Blessing Hancock and realized through a collaborative team that included Gizmo Art Production, Bryan Starr of Tarantino Engineering Consultants, and Art Up Nashville. The permanent installation combines custom metal fabrication, programmable LED lighting, and engineering to create an interactive work that responds to its environment while encouraging public engagement.

For Gizmo Art Production, the inclusion of Loqui in this national exhibition recognizes the collaborative effort required to transform ambitious artistic concepts into enduring public works. Fabricating complex public art demands close coordination between artists, engineers, fabricators, installers, and project partners—bringing together craftsmanship, engineering, and creative problem-solving to achieve a successful installation.

Curated by arts writer Kirsten Bengtson-Lykoudis, 250: A Celebration of Public Art in the U.S. highlights site-specific sculptures, murals, multimedia installations, architectural interventions, and civic artworks that enrich communities across America. The exhibition will remain available online as a permanent digital archive, allowing audiences to explore the remarkable breadth of public art throughout the United States.
