New Waterfront Wayfinding Signs Delivered to the Port of San Francisco

Finding your way along San Francisco’s iconic Embarcadero and eastern waterfront will eventually become a little easier.

Gizmo Art Production has completed fabrication of a new series of custom wayfinding signs for the Port of San Francisco. The signs have now been delivered to the Port and are awaiting installation as part of a future phase of the waterfront wayfinding program. Once installed at designated locations along the waterfront, they will help residents and visitors navigate one of the city’s most visited public spaces.

Designed by the Port of San Francisco, each sign combines durable construction with detailed mapping, directional information, and a unified visual identity. Engineered for long-term outdoor use, the signs are built to withstand San Francisco’s challenging marine environment while providing clear, easy-to-read information for pedestrians and cyclists exploring the waterfront.

Fabricating public infrastructure like these wayfinding kiosks requires precision throughout the production process. Every panel, frame, finish, and graphic must align perfectly so the completed signs will perform reliably for years in a demanding public environment.

At Gizmo’s San Francisco fabrication shop, the signs were carefully assembled, inspected, and prepared before being delivered to the Port of San Francisco. Gizmo’s role on the project was the fabrication and delivery of the completed signage. Installation will be performed at a later date by others as part of the Port’s overall implementation schedule.
