Gizmo happily worked with Jim Campbell to make his work, The Journey come to life at our San Francisco studio, where our technicians were responsible for assembling (which consists of 36,000 individually hung LED-lit handmade blue glass spheres), crating, shipping, and installing the art piece.
The work, the artist’s largest public art piece to date, measures 10’H x 6’W x 750 L and is suspended from the ceiling to create an undulated plane to guide passengers from the security area into the gate area in Terminal 2 of the newly remodeled area of the San Diego County Regional Airport. The ribbon of light will seem to float eleven to twenty-eight feet overhead- an airy apparition you can see right through.
