Gizmo Art Production collaborated with The Sibbett Group to bring this interactive model railroad exhibit to life at the California State Railroad Museum in Sacramento.
Created for the National Model Railroad Association, the exhibit explores the history, artistry and technical ingenuity of model railroading. Visitors can examine an extensive collection of locomotives and railcars, learn about the craft behind miniature railroad environments and interact with displays designed to engage visitors of different ages.
Working from The Sibbett Group’s design, Gizmo fabricated the exhibit’s custom display cases, artifact mounts, interpretive signage and railroad trestle structures. A large, locomotive-shaped display wall serves as a visual centerpiece, presenting rows of model trains within an integrated graphic and architectural framework.
The completed exhibit combines detailed craftsmanship, durable museum-grade construction and carefully coordinated graphics to showcase the collection while creating an inviting and memorable visitor experience.
