Gizmo has worked for the Presidio Officers Club on many projects throughout the years the latest being the “Exclusion” Exhibit, that was completed in Feb 2017. Gizmo worked with designer Sterling Larrimore and the Presidio Officer’s Club Curator Liz Melicker to bring this amazing and informative exhibit to life. The project involved hundreds of vinyl graphics, exhibited furniture and attention to detail.
“The Presidio Trust today announced the opening of Exclusion: The Presidio’s Role in World War II Japanese American Incarceration running Saturday, April 1, 2017 – March 2018 at the Presidio Officers’ Club Heritage Gallery 50 Moraga Avenue, San Francisco.
As headquarters of the Western Defense Command, the Presidio district was the source of 108 civilian exclusion orders and other military directives that enacted President Franklin D. Roosevelt’s Executive Order 9066. Together, these actions forced Japanese Americans from their homes along the West Coast and incarcerated them in concentration camps for the duration of the war. This special exhibition explores the Presidio’s significance in those historic times.”
