People travel from all over the globe to visit Alcatraz, run by the GGNPC, the former federal island prison that once held the likes of gangster Al Capone. Alcatraz is an iconic landmark amongst the San Francisco Bay and backdrop of Marin County. Gizmo really enjoys getting involved in the GGNPC projects and this is no exception. Gizmo was brought in to revamp the whole space by fabricate and install the clean ergonomic display units with unique appliques in the dock store. The island’s rich and interesting history make it a highly travelled destination. The island originally served as a military fort during the 1850s then later as the birthplace of the “Red Power” movement headed by the American Indian Movement (AIM) where they occupied the island for a year and a half.
