Gizmo is proud to announce the current installation of “Loqui”, a monumental sculpture we have built for the new Fairgrounds in Nashville, Tennessee. Standing at approximately 40 feet tall, this striking sculpture is the creation of renowned artist Blessing Hancock, with whom Gizmo has fostered a longstanding and fruitful partnership. Having frequently entrusted us with her fabrication needs, we are very excited to see this piece come to fruition.
Crafted from a sturdy mild steel frame and adorned with intricately CNC-cut stainless steel outer panels, the sculpture embodies both strength and elegance. Behind these panels lies an elaborate LED lighting system, encased within outdoor-grade polycarbonate, simultaneously working to protect the wiring and illuminate the artwork from within. Notably, the LED system features a detailed mesh design, precisely aligned with the sculpture’s frame to ensure seamless data and power flow. Thanks to our lighting programming specialists, the Fairgrounds staff will be able to customize the color and pattern of the lights within, allowing “Loqui” to don varying styles for different fair events.
This awe-inspiring piece embodies Blessing Hancock’s signature style, showcasing metal artwork cutouts that spell out an array of messages. By day, “Loqui” (Latin for “to speak”), captivates with its size and detail, while at night, it transforms into a beacon of light, casting a mesmerizing glow across the fairgrounds. This project exemplifies Gizmo’s commitment to delivering unique and stunning sculptures, ever expanding our engineering capabilities and solidifying our position as leaders in the fabrication industry. “Loqui” is one of Nashville’s largest public art commissions.
