For over forty years, the Exploratorium has been at the forefront of museum innovation. Combining science, nature, art and technology, the Exploratorium represents a collage of interactive exhibits to educate and enhance human perception. Gizmo has been working with the Exploratorium since 1996, creating AAM award winning exhibits in design excellence. For its exhibit, Traits of Life, Gizmo created a fully functioning lab for museum staff and visiting scientists to demonstrate the processes of dissection and gene extraction. To make the microscopic presentations visible to a larger audience, Gizmo installed a closed circuit video system as an essential component. To protect the valuable and expensive equipment, Gizmo created a space that ensured easy mobility and high security. We installed easy start up mechanisms for all levels of use, and thoroughly tested the durability to withstand the rigors of heavy use.
