Tasked with an ambitious vision and timeline, Gizmo undertook a highly interactive project for the South Mountain Visitor Center, creating a custom model and carving of a 16’ x 9’ three-dimensional USGS-based topographic map of the mountain range, with five individually scripted and edited programmable touchscreen experiences in just four and a half months. The map included one controller for selecting from multiple views projected from an overhead 4K +4k projector onto the topographic map, a custom railing system for crowd barrier and cable chase, and a cellular-based WiFi system for providing online updates to each interactive module. The project was conceptualized in June and installed in October 2024.
