As of the beginning of May, Gizmo completed the installation of “2000 Dragons”, an original painting by the great Don Ed Hardy within Grace Cathedral. On Saturday morning, Gizmo was honored alongside the artists, authors and musicians in attendance at the opening of “2000 Dragons”. This piece will remain at Grace Cathedral until the end of May, honoring the duration of AAPI month and the year of the Dragon in the Chinese Zodiac.
What makes this project so special for us is that in 2001 our founder Mark Sabatino conducted a one man installation of this same piece in a church in Cuenca, Ecuador 23 years ago. Mark established and has maintained a long standing working relationship with Don Ed Hardy and we are thrilled to see this piece again. We thank our partners at Grace and the Hardy family for this opportunity.
