We are thrilled to showcase our latest project at Fort Churchill State Historic Park in Silver Springs, Nevada. This new visitor center, spanning 2,700 sq ft, is designed to immerse visitors in the rich history of the site while providing modern amenities and educational experiences.
The center integrates interactive media screens and topographic maps that bring the story of Fort Churchill to life, engaging visitors of all ages. To maintain the historic significance of the park, we incorporated heirloom furniture that reflects the era, ensuring a cohesive and authentic atmosphere. The project features a custom viewing deck, allowing guests to enjoy the scenic landscape, as well as an innovative in-ground concrete sky viewing experience that connects visitors with the natural world. Fort Churchill SHP is steeped in Nevada’s history, with roots dating back to 1860. Our design aims to honor this legacy while also fostering an appreciation for the surrounding environment and the stories of its past, including the historic Buckland Station. The new visitor center will serve as an educational hub, welcoming school groups and history enthusiasts alike. Through engaging exhibits and comfortable facilities, we aim to enhance the visitor experience and promote a deeper understanding of Nevada’s heritage.
We are proud to have collaborated with Ralph Appelbaum Associates on this project, ensuring a blend of creativity and historical accuracy throughout the design process.
