Gizmo worked with designer Dirk Dieter and YBCA to create this traveling exhibit celebrating the release of their new book, “Individuals:Portraits from the Gap Collection.”
Client: The Gap
Category: Exhibit
Location: Eyebeam Gallery, New York
Date: 2006
The exhibit features 250 framed celebrity artists and performers by A-list photographers. The images hang on a variety of walls, tunnel, and totems. Gizmo executed the exhibit install, breakdown, transportation and conservation of the exhibit at both the Eyebeam Gallery in New York City and Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco.
The exhibit is to promote the book Individuals which is a collection of hundreds of beautiful portraits—along with celebrity essays on individuality.
The book celebrates more than two decades of work and is filled with some of the most memorable images ever created of stars like Sarah Jessica Parker, Scarlett Johansson, Willie Nelson, Ashton Kutcher, and Julianne Moore. The Gap partnered with U2 frontman Bono and his (PRODUCT)RED brand—the aim of which is to help raise awareness and funds to help eliminate AIDS in Africa.
