Gizmo fabricated these custom street signs for downtown San Fransisco. The signs point toward tourist destinations.
Scott Oliver’s art piece Points Of Departure is part of the Masonic Avenue Streetscape Improvement Project.
Oliver says”, “I’m trying to make something that people using this space can connect with on some level,” Oliver told us. “The place isn’t really connected to a neighborhood. It’s a transitory spot that people use to get elsewhere. I wanted to bring form to that. The significance of the space right now is where you are headed next, not the spot itself.”
The 7.5 foot signposts are made up of 500 responses collected by Scott Oliver. The posts were fabricated by Gizmo on our water jet machine also incorporating painting and vinyl exterior graphics. Gizmo enjoyed working with Scott Oliver through the process and loves being involved in these San Francisco Projects.
