The “Dream” sculpture idea came from the artist, Ana Teresa Fernandez. The sculpture was installed on the back of Bernal Hill in San Francisco, where 101 and 280 meet. The sculpture is covered in hundreds of mirrored polished stainless steel discs. Each individual disc was cut from Gizmo’s water jet machine and each was individually attached to the letter panels. The fabrication of the piece was done in Bayview at Gizmo Art Production’s 10,000 sf studio. Gizmo and Ana Teresa have been working to complete this project for over two years and now it is shimmering in the sun while thousands of people every day get to enjoy it. The installation was a challenge due to the slope of the hill and the size of the sculpture. Gizmo hired a 110 foot crane to place the sculpture high up on the hill.
