Ned Kahn

Rain Portal

Gizmo has worked on many interactive exhibits employing water to educate and inspire museum visitors, but we have also had the pleasure of working with many well-known artists helping them create unique water sculptures and public works.Gizmo designs systems on a custom basis, using pumps, filters, piping, electronic relays and lighting to create one of a kind works of art.

In 2012 Gizmo constructed and installed Ned Kahn’s “Rain Portal” at the new SFPUC building in San Francisco, and is currently completing work on Peter Richard’s “Watershed” for the San Jose Environmental Innovation Center. Gizmo has created hands-on water pieces for many children’s museums as well, including a climb through waterfall at the Bay Area Discovery Museum’s “Tot Spot” in Sausalito, and various bathroom fixtures demonstrating water conservation at the Stockton Children’s Museum’s “Conservation Cottage” and the Children’s Museum of La Habra (for “Clubhouse H2O”) in La Habra California.
